Symptoms of Drain Problems
The following are symptoms that you have a drain issue which needs to be addressed:
Foul odors
Air bubbles or gurgling while draining
Water pooling around your feet during a shower
Water only leaving the fixture slowly or toilet flush is weak
Water coming UP a drain (this is a sign of complete blockage, needs urgent attention)
Professional Drain Cleaning by a Licensed Plumber
Let our licensed plumber take care of getting your drains flowing again. He has all the equipment to take care of the following:
Clogged Kitchen Drains - often caused by small amounts of grease, soap curd, and food waste going down the drain over an extended period of time.
Clogged Bathroom Drains - Bathroom drains get clogged with hair, soap curd, and are a breeding ground for gross, slimy deposits.
Clogged Toilet - Wipes, hygiene products, and large items that get flushed down the drain can stop a toilet from flushing effectively.
Clogged Utility Room Drains - Laundry sinks are often used to clean big messes. A washing machines job is to clean dirt, and buildup from clothing. The drains can slowly fill with dirt, sand, and whatever else lands on the floor. Water coming up the floor drain is often a sign of severe blockage downstream and needs immediate attention.
Clogged main drains - The main drain collects all the water and waste from the home and deposits it in the sewer and septic, so it is affected by all the causes noted above. In addition, if there are trees located near its path, there is a chance of roots infiltrating and blocking the line. A main drain blockage is urgent, and while waiting for the plumber to arrive do not put anything down any drain in the home.
Why Hire a Professional?
The drain cleaners sold in stores are harsh chemicals. They will eat away at a clog, but they don’t discriminate. They’ll also eat at the pipes themselves and create a risk for yourself or the plumber if the chemical cannot continue down the pipe.
Professional drain cleaning gets the problem taken care of through either mechanical or water pressure means. Our licensed plumber can also address any piping issues which are contributing to the issue. Continue below to see the services we offer.
Drain Cleaning Services
-
Drain Snaking or Augering
A snake or auger works well for objects or items in the line. The professional equipment that a plumber uses has more power, length, and interchangeable heads to tackle a variety of issues compared to consumer grade equipment. Experience is also a powerful tool to get drains clear and running again.
-
Hydrojetting (High Pressure Wash)
Hydrojetting is amazing at clearing out greasy, gooey, slimy, or sludgy buildup in your pipes. This type of clog tends to build up slowly, and is hard to clear with a snake. The high pressure generated by the jetter scours the sides of the pipe safely and can clear them right out so your drains are back to their original capacity.
-
FlexShaft Cleaning
The newest addition to our drain cleaning arsenal, the Flex-Shaft machine allows the simultaneous use of a camera. This means we can see what is happening in the pipe as the cleaning process is happening.
-
Camera Inspection
Want to do a preventative inspection? We can help with that. Our cameras can go down almost any drain found in a household and we can check for buildup, roots, or use them to diagnose a problem. Camera inspection generally needs to happen when the drain is able to flow. A drain full of water needs to be cleared before the camera can see. If you have trees near your drain line, consider a camera inspection to monitor for root intrusion. The camera can also help locate the pipe.
Preventing Drain Clogs
There are several strategies you can use to prevent drains from developing clogs in the first place.
Install screened drain covers - these work well in sinks and bathtubs, to collect any food, waste, or hair and stop it from going down the drain.
Only flush natural waste and toilet paper - any other materials should be disposed of in the garbage, even if it claims to be flushable. Do not flush wipes, hygiene products, or kitty litter.
Remove food grease before washing - use a paper towel to mop up grease or drain it into a container for later disposal. Removing as much grease as possible before washing will slow down the amount that goes into the drain system.
